Well here we are again, offering up a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card at a grade level that is technically accurate but doesn't do the card justice from a standpoint of eye appeal. Considered by most collectors to be the premier post-war sports card ever produced, it's completely understandable that PSA is very judicious when evaluating such high-profile specimens. And while this '52 Topps Mantle card does have an obvious crease that runs horizontally across the top half of the card, the strong color and sharpness bestowed upon the central image makes this iconic specimen a very attractive option given the explosion in prices over the last few years for higher graded examples. And with the crease being far less apparent on the reverse, the back of the card looks closer to VG/EX to EX. The corners are at least a grade or two above the assessment with a rough cut along the bottom edge added an extra bit of character to this industry icon. The opportunity to acquire a very respectable 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card just got a bit easier, if you can fight off the crowd and place the winning bid!
