Jackie Robinson was known for keeping an even temperament in the face of racial unrest and hostility, but he never envisioned what was to come in a 1954 game against the Braves. Arguing an earlier play where the umpire lost track of the count, Robinson was ejected from the game. He returned to the dugout and accidentally flipped his bat a little too hard, skidding off the top of the rain-soaked dugout and striking a husband and wife, who later sued him for damages but settled out of court for $600. PSA authenticated.
