Measuring approximately 4" x 4.5", this circa 1939-40 photograph is of the Cuban Almendares team, founded in 1878 and one of the most distinguished squads in the history of the country. Pictured here in the front row (second from left with hand on knee) is Alejandro Oms, one of the greatest players in the history of Cuban baseball, with other notable players like Isidro Fabre and Julio Rojo pictured in the back. A listing of the players in the photo is handwritten on the reverse. A phenomenal piece of Cuban baseball history. LOA from PSA/DNA.
