Known as "The Octopus" for his impressive wingspan, Marty Marion was the precursor to today's customary tall shortstop, standing 6' 2" yet showing outstanding agility for his size. Marion was an 8-time all star who won three World Series championships with the St. Louis Cardinals, in 1942, 1944 and 1946, was named the NL MVP in 1944 and is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame. Offered here is a vintage G600 store model glove, stamped "Mister Shortstop" in the pocket and signed by Marion on the outside of the pinky finger. The original retail box is well-loved, with a few tears and a hole in the lid, but the label with Marion's likeness is still intact. LOA from JSA for the signature.
