Coming into the 1956 season with a fantastic 61-22 lifetime mark (he'd win 19 more and lead the league with a 2.47 ERA), Hall of Famer Whitey Ford is presented on this pack-fresh Topps card, easily claiming MINT status with its near-perfect endpoints and clean, bold central image color supporting a stunning action shot of the esteemed Yankee lefty. Had the left to right horizontal centering been a hair more precise, this amazing specimen would have likely been given serious consideration to becoming the first and only example to reach the GEM MINT level. They don't get any more pristine than this!
