There was a time, nearly 70 years ago when any kid with a penny in their pocket could stop by the local soda shop, drop that shiny piece of copper on the counter and get themselves a 1951 Bowman pack, which contained one piece of bubble gum and a "picture card." I'd have to think a lot of kids were more excited about the gum then the card, but if you grew up playing stickball on the streets of the Bronx, you probably were trying to copy the swing of "The Yankee Clipper" or talking about the new centerfielder named Mantle. The 1951 Bowman series is famous for the rookie cards of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, and I bet if someone were to open this GAI 8 graded pack and find one of those two gems lurking within the wax confines, they'd be every bit excited as that wild-eyed kid that nabbed a copy of their favorite hero in 1951. The pack is perfectly sealed while the red, white, and blue wrapper is surprisingly fresh for its age. A fantastic find that could be the centerpiece of any advanced collection.
