While not the most valuable card of the Mickey Mantle library, the 1956 issue of "The Commerce Comet" is certainly one of the most popular, partly because of it being the season of his amazing Triple Crown campaign but mostly because it's just so darn attractive! Providing plenty of bold color and a fantastic overall central image of the Yankees legend, the 1956 Topps example of "The Mick" marks his triumphant return to the Topps family after a brief stint exclusively with Bowman. This card has been graded NM/MT 8 by PSA, showing light touches that are completely consistent with the grade and a very mild shift toward the left horizontal edge. The bright pigments are further accentuated by a glistening application of original factory gloss, and even the slate gray reverse with its full spectrum of pigments stands up to the advanced grade. A very worthwhile investment for any collector looking to add a key piece to their collection.
