Walter Hagen was not only an excellent golfer, he was also very skilled at baseball. In 1914, he cancelled a tryout with the Philadelphia Phillies in order to play in a golf tournament; a week later, he was the U.S. Open champion. He is featured on the offered 1933 Goudey Sport Kings card, graded EX 5 by SGC. This example shows NM or better corners with a deeply saturated backdrop and a stunningly clear image, with a customary centering shift preventing a loftier assessment. A hint of wet sheet transfer from stacking at the factory is visible on the reverse. A strong example with visual appeal in advance of the given technical grade.
