A Hall of Fame-caliber pitcher who was banned from baseball for his role in the infamous "Black Sox" scandal, Eddie Cicotte was enjoying a 90-48 record with a 2.30 ERA in his final four seasons leading up to his banishment. Featured on this original type I photo circa the 1910s, which measures approximately 4 3/8" x 6 5/8", Cicotte appears to be warming up for a game that he is actually trying to win. The N. Y. Sun stamp is on the reverse and the photo shows moderate creasing and wear commensurate with a century-old snapshot. LOA from PSA/DNA.
