Vintage card experts know all about the N284 Buchner Gold Coin series; as much as can be known about an issue that is well over a century old. But offered here is a trio of the "redemption prizes" offered by the company for turning in those cigarette coupons. As shown on the included coupon card, the prize depended on how many coupons you sent. The first item in this group is a sliver plated snuff box, ornate in design with "gold coin" engraved on the top. The 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece shows some scuffing but otherwise presents well. Next is an intricately designed pocket knife with "D. Buchner & Co." on one side and "Use Violet plug" on the other, measuring 3 1/4 inches long. and finally, a silver and gold-toned locket that has "Use Gold Coin tobacco engraved on the edges of the inside. Three great artifacts from a popular 19th-century tobacco company.
