There was a time when people dared to dream that as Babe Ruth was shattering the home run record book in every conceivable way, a contemporary was already on the road to surpassing him. With well over 400 home runs and barely 30 years old, it seemed "The Beast" was poised to pass the Babe by the time he hung up the cleats, but it was not to be. Foxx's "Ruth-like" popularity and passing at just 59 years old has left the supply of single-signed balls far short of the demand. Offered is a respectable single-signed baseball of Jimmie Foxx with his autograph presented on the sweet spot. The stampings have worn off and the ball has a consistently browned cover with patches of scuffing from excessive use, but the fountain-pen marking of Foxx is clearly legible. You don't get many opportunities at a single-signed Foxx ball without paying astronomical prices and this one is still within reach while offering a very solid Foxx signature. LOA from JSA.
