Led by a sharp PSA 7.5 example of Lou Alcindor's rookie card, presented is a wonderful 1969 Topps basketball high-grade set. After an eleven-year absence from the hardcourt, the Topps company released a basketball set for the 1969-70 season. Taking a page from their previous efforts in the 1964 Hockey as well as the 1965 Football release, Topps chose to issue the cards in the larger "Tallboy" style, quite possibly to even more greatly accentuate Alcindor rookie card. The set presents well with two other PSA graded cards: #1 Chamberlian PSA 5 and 99 Checklist PSA 5, and some of the stars as follows: 20 Havlicek RC EX/MT, 35 Baylor NM, 43 Bradley EX/MT, 50 Robertson EX/MT, 60 Reed NM/MT, 75 Hayes NM+, 80 Monroe EX/MT, 90 West MM, and 98 Frazier EX/MT+. The remainder of the cards grade the following: 15% NM/MT or better, 40% NM, 35% EX/MT, and 10% lower.
