With Philadelphia Gum Company ceasing to produce football card sets after a four-year run, Topps began an unchallenged reign over football card production with this 219-card release in 1968. The offered set is in very high-grade condition with 30% NM/MT or better, 40% NM, and 30% EX/MT with many of the lower graded ones featuring slight centering issues and NM to NM/MT perimeters. The always popular Bob Griese RC, #196, is graded PSA 7, with #1 Starr NM, 25 Meredith NM+, 65 Namath EX/MT, 75 Sayers NM/MT (OC), 100 Unitas NM/MT (OC), 127 Butkus MINT (OC), 149 Kemp MINT (OC), 161 Tarkenton NM/MT, 162 Ditka NM/MT, 171 Dawson NM/MT, 173 Little RC NM/MT+ (OC), and 181 Lilly NM/MT+.
