Hall of Fame legend Ted Williams was no stranger to grabbing the pole position card #1 in the series, doing so in the 1954 and 1958 Topps sets as well as right here with this PSA 8 graded 1957 Topps card. Three of the four corners qualify for MINT status, offsetting the mild bias toward the northeast, while the central image of "The Splendid Splinter" and the impressively pack-fresh reverse uphold the standards for the grade. This is a fine example in which to start a top-notch set.
