Created by noted illustrator William Medcalf for the advertising firm of Brown and Bigelow, artwork depicting six of baseball's greatest stars appeared on products such as calendars, baseball schedules and playing cards. Cobb, Wagner and Mack appeared as they did during the early 1950s with Ruth, Gehrig and McGraw pictured as spiritual images.
