When Babe Ruth was in his prime, baseball experts were predicting that no one would ever come close to repeating his home run superiority. But that changed quickly, and before the Babe's career was over, Jimmie Foxx was on the rise and challenging Ruth's body of work. With well over 400 home runs and barely 30 years old, "The Beast" was poised to pass the Babe by the time he hung up the cleats, but it was not to be. Foxx's "Ruth-like" popularity and passing at just 59 years old makes autographs like the one on this aged Worth sphere very rare. Additional signatures of Pinky Higgins and Joe Cascarella have faded, but the signature of Foxx on the side panel is still vibrant and completely legible, which allows for a display like a single-signed ball.
