Returning from his stint in the military and anxious to pick up where he left off from his successful rookie season, Whitey Ford makes his first Topps appearance in the 1953 set. Possessing bona fide NM/MT to NM/MT+ corners and a lustrous surface, only the slight centering shift toward the northeast prevents a higher grade. Even so, it's stronger than most at this grade level.
