From the hardcourt, there are really only a handful of defining cards that are quintessential to any advanced collection. That includes the rookie cards of George Mikan (1948 Bowman), Bill Russell (1957 Fleer), Wilt Chamberlain (1961 Topps), and the featured specimen, the 1969 Topps Lew Alcindor debut pasteboard. The featured example has a bright white backdrop to accentuate the blue color supporting the gangly Alcindor with sturdy NM/MT to NM/MT+ endpoints and a light pink reverse with a blue bio and stats that show off Lew's impressive career at UCLA. The centering shift toward the southeast facilitates an (OC) qualifier but maintains the overall sharpness of specimens requiring tens of thousands of dollars.
