Though not considered to be a tough autograph in general, single-signed baseballs of Urban "Red" Faber have proven to be extremely scarce, and many Hall of Fame autograph collectors have searched in vain for a decent example. The offered orb has been signed U.C. "Red" Faber as most known examples are, done in blue ball point ink. Faber, the last legal spitballer in the American League, was a member of the 1919 Chicago White Sox but did not participate in the world series due to injury. The offered ball has been lightly shellacked but retains deep black stampings and vivid red stitching and is accompanied by an LOA from PSA/DNA.
