Hall of Famer Charles Herbert Ruffing had a promising career developing as an outfielder and first baseman until a mining accident claimed four toes on his left foot. Realizing he would never be able to regain his speed, he switched to pitching, and went on to a 273-win career with six All Star appearances and six World Series championships. He has signed the offered baseball, fittingly, in red fiber tip ink, and although the stamping has faded considerably, a close inspection reveals that this is an OAL (MacPhail) ball. LOA from PSA/DNA.
