Francis H. "Silk" O'Loughlin was an American League umpire from 1902 to 1918, officiating the World Series in 1906, 1909, 1912, 1915 and 1917. One of the most renowned officials of his day, Silk died at the age of 46 as a result of the 1918 Spanish Flu that claimed the lives of as many as 100 million people. O'Loughlin's extremely rare signature graces this OAL (Johnson) baseball and is dated May 8, 1915. Full LOA from JSA.
