Though not in the Hall of Fame, Al Dark was regarded by many as the best of the three shortstops in New York during the 1950s, and finished his playing career with a .289 batting average and 2,089 hits. He is presented here on a beautiful 1954 Red Heart card, graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Colors and gloss remain factory-fresh and the perimeter is completely in line with the established technical assessment. To date, just 12 examples have graded higher.
