Often overlooked when considering the best catchers of the 1950s, Sherm Lollar was a stud behind the dish and at the plate as well, appearing in 9 All Star games and earning three Gold Glove awards. He is presented here on a shining example from the 1954 Red Heart Dog Food series, graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Appearing above-grade in nearly every scrutable facet, the graders had to have been close when considering at least a half-point bump.
