While the 1969-70 Topps basketball release is primarily known as the launching pad for the coveted Lew Alcindor rookie card, perhaps the second-most desirable subject in the series is John Havlicek, already an established star with the Boston Celtics at the time of the set's release. Offered here is one of the cleanest examples of Hondo's rookie card that we have ever encountered, graded MINT 9 by SGC. Joined at the exclusive grading tier by just five other examples with none listed higher on the SGC pop report, this one offers a clear image of the Hall of Famer set against a vibrant pumpkin-orange oval, and the entire obverse is noticeably free of errant print marks.
