The sport of professional baseball recently celebrated the 20,000th member to reach the big leagues. Most have fleeting and forgettable careers, some rise to make a momentary impact, and a select few are immortalized as legends. The 1920s and 1930s must've been an amazing time to be a fan of the "Bronx Bombers" as Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, two of those immortals, teamed up in an all-out assault on the league that has had no equal. The OAL (Johnson) sports a completely legible Babe Ruth signature across the sweet spot with an equally appealing Lou Gehrig penning diagonally to Babe's left, a common location of choice for "The Iron Horse." Above Ruth's signature is an autograph that shows Hank Aaron, and although Aaron's significance as the future all-time home run king is unquestionably important, the Ruth-Gehrig tandem is the real headliner here. To add insult to injury, the Aaron auto has been deemed secretarial by JSA. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful keepsake from the golden age of the New York Yankees dynasty.
