As an inaugural release, the Leaf set featured may players that were not featured in rival Bowman's inaugural set. One of those players that Leaf featured was New York Yankees superstar Joe DiMaggio, and the '48 Leaf card of "Joltin' Joe" is one of his most popular. Although the card offered is in lower grade with some creases and a centering shift, it does feature vividly delivered color.
