Of all the notable subsets, chase cards, and limited quantity gems that have appeared in packs of basketball cards over the years, few if any have come remotely close to matching the popularity of Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems cards. Sporting bold, glowing color and limited in quantity (this one is #015/100), they've become the focal point of many advanced collections. The featured card of Michael Jordan comes from the 2013 Upper Deck M.J. Master Collection, a Precious Metal Gems "Red" specimen that earns the grade of PSA 8.5, extremely impressive given how the edges and endpoints are as prone to chipping as just about any issue ever made. This one has very slight nicks at its extremes and probably deserved the extra half grade, in our opinion. Only one other is graded PSA 8.5 with just one graded higher.
