Though most of the future superstars get snapped up by major college football powerhouses, every once in a while, a diamond falls through the cracks. Hall of Famer Walter Payton was the pride of little-known Jackson State and expressed an eagerness to destroy the NFL rushing records of all that suited up before him, which he accomplished. A beautiful head and shoulders image is framed reasonably well on this 1976 Topps football card, compensated well with MINT to GEM MINT endpoints that make it conservatively placed at a grade of PSA 8. True "Sweetness" in the collectibles world!
