With the three-card panel format of the 1980-81 Topps basketball series scrapped after only one year, collectors were eager for the 1981-82 series where Larry Bird and Magic Johnson would get their own issues. Offered here is Magic Johnson's first solo appearance on a Topps pasteboard, a well-centered piece that has earned the grade of PSA 9 but features many characteristics that match GEM MINT examples as well.
