Like the quartet of Babe Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set, there's no general consensus among collectors as to which of the four Ty Cobb cards in the T206 series is their favorite. The red background issue like the one offered here usually takes the lead, partly because it reminds collectors of the ultra-rare Cobb with Cobb reverse and also because it's really just a spectacular-looking card and offers a very detailed and accurate artist's rendering of "The Georgia Peach." This PSA 5 example is simply bursting with color and stands as one of the most appealing specimens that you'll ever encounter at this level. Sturdy but technically correct EX corners and edges encompass what appears to be a brilliant NM/MT surface until closer inspection reveals subtle blemishes to the right of Cobb in the bold red backdrop. Highlights include noticeably accurate centering as well as an incredibly bold and accurate registration of the image. Even some higher-graded examples aren't as eye-pleasing as this!
