Topps' first major entrance onto the gridiron, the 1955 Topps All-American set, was also one of the company's best. The set features 100 cards of the greatest college football players of all time, with memorable issues of Jim Thorpe, Knute Rockne, Red Grange, The Four Horsemen (Notre Dame's 1924 backfield), and former Supreme Court Justice, Whizzer White, as well as a lengthy list of challenging short-printed rookies and Hall of Famers. Offered here is a complete 100-card set with many PSA/SGC graded as follows: PSA 5.5 - #66. PSA 5 - #14, 17, 21 White, 38, 56, 57, 59, 84, 92, 93, and 97 Hutson. PSA 4 - #2, 3, 8, 20 Baugh, 24, 31, 35, 37 Thorpe, 39, 40 (MC), 46, 47, 50, 58, 60, 62, 67 (MC), 68 Four Horsemen, 71, 72, 74, 76, and 100 Henry. PSA 3 - #64, 80, and 91. Also #4 SGC 70 EX+ 5.5, 73 SGC 60 EX 5, and #6 Kinnick and 16 Rockne, both SGC 4. The rest of the set is 30% VG/EX or better, 50% VG and 20% lower with #1 Hickman EX, 12 Graham VG/EX, and 27 Grange VG/EX.
