Avid collectors in the modern card market have long known the importance and rarity of the cards in the 1997 Metal Universe "Precious Metal Gems" collection as well as how difficult they are to snag in mid to upper grade due to the extreme fragility of the card's surface with the normal cutting process often chipping the exceptionally fragile borders. The offered example features superstar baller and Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady on what is easily his most important rookie card. A two-time NBA scoring champ and seven-time all-star, "T-Mac" used his sturdy 6' 8" frame as a mismatch against shorter shooting guards and less nimble small forwards to average over 25 points per game in the prime of his career. Chipping around the perimeter probably should be a lot more prevalent but is largely localized to the extreme tips while the glowing red backdrop and clean image of the teenager straight out of high school is perfectly focused. The reverse is problem-free, proudly boasting that it's "098 of 100" in the lower right corner.
