Along with the issue of the Leaf set, the 1948 Bowman set was the first mainstream baseball card collection since 1941 with the 48-card release marking the arrival of many stars as "rookies" because it was their first appearance on a baseball card. This complete set is 10% EX or better, 40% VG/EX, 30% VG and 20% lower. The coveted Stan Musial RC (#36) is a well-centered VG/EX, with #3 Kiner VG/EX (OC), 4 Mize EX (MC), 5 Feller VG/EX+, 6 Berra EX (MC), 8 Rizzuto EX (MC), 17 Slaughter VG/EX, 18 Spahn POOR, and 38 Schoendienst EX/MT (OC).
