Reading like a who's who in early 20th-century baseball immortality, this composite photograph commemorates manager John McGraw's selections as baseball's all-time team at each position prior to his passing in 1934. Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Napoleon Lajoie, and Jimmy Collins made McGraw's squad and have added their iconic signatures to the piece, authenticated and slabbed by JSA, along with a full LOA. The signatures of Gehrig, Mathewson, Ewing, and McGraw have been deemed secretarial, most of whom had passed before the piece was produced and thus could not sign it, but were likely added for completeness. The signature of Lou Gehrig was signed by his wife. Other than Cobb's signature in his traditional green ink being slightly faded but completely legible, all of the other signatures are sharp and bold, led by "The Sultan of Swat" in the upper right corner. Measures approximately 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". One other such example is known to exist. A truly stunning piece of baseball history!
