Saturnino Orestes Armas Minoso Arietta, better known as Minnie or perhaps "Mr. White Sox" or "The Cuban Comet" is the subject of the featured pasteboard from the 1953 Topps release, recently graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. A career .299 hitter with 2,110 hits and 195 home runs, Minoso was drafted by the Cleveland Indians, who could never find a spot for him on the roster, and in 1951 he was traded to the Chicago White Sox where he became an instant star. The offered card shows no visible chipping in the full-bleed red name box, and the colors and gloss remain factory fresh. A brilliant addition to any 1953 Topps set.
