When this government postcard was stamped on June 7, 1938, Lou Gehrig was having another stellar campaign though his numbers tailed off at the end, finishing the season with his lowest offensive production in a decade. The effects of the disease that would take his life were starting to show and he would last just eight games the following year. The offered autograph of "The Iron Horse" is on a heavily creased GPC but presents one of the boldest signatures we've ever offered, a clean penning of deep black fountain pen ink with "Best Wishes" inscription. LOA from JSA and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
