A 19th Century Scottish writer that achieved international fame, Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) is best known for his literary masterpiece Ivanhoe and served as President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh from 1820 until his passing. The offered artifact is a two page letter penned by Sir Scott on October 23rd (no year given) and signed on the reverse. An artist's signed pictorial appears with the letter which is matted in a cardboard housing and ready for framing.
