Of all the images of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson on baseball cards, the full-body artist's rendering of the baseball pioneer on his 1950 Bowman issue is perhaps the most significant. Robinson had just completed a career year that earned him a National League batting title and an MVP award, further shrinking the segregation line that had existed in baseball throughout its history. The featured circa 1950 Original Type I black and white photo provided the inspiration, and the image, for Robinson's iconic 1950 Bowman card, complete with the Ebbet's Field seating in the backdrop. Produced by Barney Stein, who was a photographer for the Dodgers for over 20 years. A wonderful NM/MT piece of history and a key addition to any photograph collection. The size of the photo is 7 1/4" x 9 1/4"
