Graded AUTHENTIC by PSA. Presented is one of the more alluring and rare cards of Mickey Mantle that we have ever had the pleasure of offering in a Mile High Card Company auction. The offered 1967 Topps Test Disc of Mickey Mantle stands at the very top of the list of rare Mantle items and enjoys a near mythical status among die hard cardboard fanatics. Issued during Topps heyday of test issues comes this wonderful collectible that shares its cult like status with the likes of the 1961 Topps Dice Game release as well as the rare 1968 Topps Plaks issue (offered elsewhere in this catalog). Topps seemingly experimented with test products all throughout the 1960's in an attempt to find new gewgaws to sell to all of kiddum and was never seemingly satisfied with the test issues as they never went to final production. What these test issues did was create an array of exceedingly difficult items which command the attention of devout ballcarders. A perusal of the PSA "Pop Report" reveals that PSA has only encountered 3 examples of this deliciously difficult cards assigning an authentic designation to all three. The item appears as though it was of pre-production origins and was never cut down to a disc. A enormously scarce item featuring the iconic Mickey Mantle with authentication from PSA, does it get any better than this?
