The 1950 Bowman football issue, for some reason, continues to be one of the most underrated and overlooked sets ever produced. It offers tremendous artwork with exceptional color and detail, on uncluttered card fronts that propel the visual appeal of cardboard keepsakes to previously unseen levels. The set also offers many endearing action shots that provide a legitimate hands-on feel for the beloved American game. Offered here is a group of 77 pasteboards from that celebrated release, all having been graded by PSA. Many of the Hall of Famers that drive the set are included, such as Bobby Layne, Otto Graham and Leo Nomellini. There is a significant amount of duplication contained within, with the same card being offered in various grades in some cases, meaning that the lot might be suitable for dealer inventory breakup. The breakdown is as follows: PSA 8 NM/MT (24 cards with 2 qualifiers): 11, 14, 21, 21 (OC), 24, 25, 30, 42, 53, 54, 57 (OC), 63, 77, 80, 87, 107 Nomellini, 110, 112, 114, 121 (2), 125, 130, 141; PSA 7 NM (34 cards): 21, 22, 23 Van Buren, 25, 26 Lujack, 33, 38 Hart, 42, 44, 46, 61, 70, 71, 75, 84 (2), 88, 95, 99 (2), 101, 105, 106 (2), 107, 108, 115, 124 (2), 127, 128 Finks, 132, 139, 142; PSA 6 EX/MT (17 cards): 14 (2), 37 Layne, 41, 45 Graham, 46, 49, 59, 74 (2), 85, 87, 93, 95, 99, 108, 130.
