T206 Honus Wagner with Sweet Caporal Reverse Coming to Mile High Card Company August Auction

June 15, 2020
Castle Rock, CO.- For the second time in less than a year, Mile High Card Company will be offering a T206 Honus Wagner with a Sweet Caporal reverse, an issue universally considered the crown jewel of all baseball cards. “It was such a privilege to present a T206 Wagner as the headliner of “The Event” auction last October,” said MHCC CEO and President Brian Drent, “The world-record result achieved for the sale of that card was an important factor in securing this Wagner for the August Auction.” In fact, that Wagner sale in last October’s MHCC auction, a PSA 2, brought in $1,326,000 and nearly doubled the previous public sale high price from almost over four years ago. With the card market on an unprecedented bull run over the past six months, many card experts are predicting that this sale will fetch a seven-digit figure as well.

The pinnacle of the sports card industry, the T206 Honus Wagner is so far in advance of its peers that casual collectors (and even those who know next to nothing about the hobby) are familiar with the card and its status as an elite collectible. While other cards have proven to be pricier or exist with greater scarcity, none carry the prestige enjoyed by the T206 Wagner. Graded PSA 1 the offered card shows plenty of mileage as you might expect, but without the unsightly areas of missing paper on the front surface that afflict most specimens of this grade level. More importantly, it represents a golden opportunity to land the hobby’s flagship issue and is a tremendous addition to an already jam-packed auction that promises to be the greatest in the history of Mile High Card Company.

We are still accepting material for the August Auction but the deadline date of July 13th is quickly approaching.
