Presented is a tremendous high-grade set of 1947 Cummings and Sons Famous Fighters. These cards are smaller than normal, as are most British sets. An artist’s rendition of each pugilist appears in a ring, set against a red and black background. The reverse declares the card to be a “swop card” and gives a bit of background for each fighter. The graded cards break down thusly: PSA 10 GEM MINT: 15; PSA 9 MINT: 7 Baer, 8, 1, 16, 17, 29, 9, 47, 48 Lewis, 61; PSA 8 NM-MT: 3, 4 Tunney, 6, 9, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 23, 26, 28, 30 Robinson, 35, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 50 Dempsey, 54, 56, 57, 59, 60, 63; PSA 7 NM: 1 Louis, 7, 51, 58; PSA 6 EX-MT: 2. The ungraded portion of the set is largely NM-MT, with a few possibly lower due to centering issues.
