If you're an advanced basketball card collector, you know that Kobe, Lebron, and MJ rookie cards dominate the modern market but there's nothing more "vintage old school" than the legendary 1948 Bowman George Mikan rookie card. Mikan was the first true superstar of the sport, a physical marvel that used his outlandish 6'10", 245 lb. frame to routinely average over 27 points and 14 rebounds a game when team scoring averages were only 70-80 points. An indefensible force on the court, Mikan led the Minneapolis Lakers to 5 NBA Champions over a 6-year period from 1949-54. The featured card carries a modest grade of PSA 3 but presents in excess of the assessment in many ways. First off, the centering favors the left edge but is more than acceptable for the grade, with typically rounded corners yielding to the eye-pleasing deep blue backdrop.
