Despite Ned Garver’s 20-win season, the 1951 St. Louis Browns were a hapless bunch, finishing with a 52-102 record, good for last place in the American League. Surviving almost 60 years and presented in amazing condition, this game-used 1951 St. Louis Browns flannel road jersey of pitcher Al Widmar is sure to be at the top of the standings in any vintage jersey collection. The left sleeve has a tackle twill stitched American League 1901-1951 Golden Anniversary patch, with Browns logo and number “20” on the reverse double twill stitched. The vintage Rawlings label and size 44 tag appear inside the color, with a brown, cursive stitched “Al Widmar 51-1” on the front left tail. The zipper functions perfectly, and the jersey exhibits excellent game use, with set-in dirt stains adorning the front and back surface. An incredible baseball artifact in highly collectible condition! LOA from Mile High Card Co.
