Granted, the 1952 Topps card of Mickey Mantle is unquestionably the greatest baseball card icon of the post-war era, but most advanced collectors will privately tell you that they like the aesthetics of the 1953 Topps Mantle more and can acquire one in NM condition at roughly 10% of the cost of the 1952. This particular card is exceptional at the grade of SGC 7 NM with the only attribute that doesn't appear above-grade is the centering, positioned slightly toward the top edge. The reverse is clean with solid printing and sharp edges that amplify the card's rough-cut. Unquestionably accurate in color and registration with virtually no chipping along the red border, this card is the ideal specimen for any NM level 1953 Topps collection. It's only a matter of time before prices for high-grade examples of the '53 Topps Mantle match that of the previous Topps card and take a rapid move higher, so it's a good time to nab this remarkable specimen!
