Aside from the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente's 1955 Topps rookie card is arguably the hottest commodity in baseball! It was just a year ago that a PSA 8 example hovered just north of the five-digit range, but now sells for roughly the price of a brand new Jaguar XF. For most collectors, that ship has sailed, but you can still find a beautiful Clemente RC for a reasonable sum right here. Graded PSA 8 (OC), this beauty has all of the benefits of a straight PSA 8, from its extraordinary image quality to its unyielding NM/MT endpoints. The obvious but largely unobjectionable centering shift toward the horizontal southeast slashes the price considerably and puts it in the wheelhouse of many advanced collectors. The reverse is actually pretty nicely centered, well within the specs of a straight NM/MT grade. If you want a Clemente RC without the typical moderate wear around the edges, give strong consideration to this!
