In 1959, the Bazooka bubble gum company decided to capitalize on the sports card market by devoting the entire 5" x 2-3/4" back panel of their 25-count bubble gum boxes to offer a card from a very exclusive roster of baseball and football stars. The cards today are particularly scarce and about 80% of all the specimens that were hand cut from the boxes ended up with a grade of AUTHENTIC. Finding a 1959 Bazooka box completely intact like this example of Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda is even rarer with PSA having examined only four such specimens (all Mantle or Mays). The featured box would easily outrank those for quality save for the writing on one of the flaps that says "bought in supermarket - 17 cents." A wise purchase indeed. The actual card is free from any significant blemishes or creasing while the cellophane window on the other side is completely intact.
