Easily spotted at the corner drug or candy store almost a half-century ago in that florescent blue box, 24 unopened packs of 1972 Topps baseball 5th/6th series cards await to be unearthed or stored, perhaps for another 40+ years. Thought to be produced in smaller quantities, as were most high-numbered series' from previous years, the 5th and 6th Series (#526-787) are far more difficult to track down and demand a premium within the sports card hobby. Possible pulls include Pete Rose and Nolan Ryan, high-numbered cards of Steve Garvey and Rod Carew, "traded" cards of Joe Morgan, Steve Carlton, and Frank Robinson, and many other Hall of Famers and issues that have yet to record a GEM MINT specimen on the PSA pop report. Steve Hart/Baseball Card Exchange has placed his sticker of approval that the contents are unopened and from the rare 5th/6th series.
