A closer for the "We Are Family" World Champion 1979 Pirates, pitcher Kent Tekulve became famous for his awkward, submarine style windup. But with 94 career wins, 184 saves, and a lifetime 2.85 ERA, it was even more awkward to try to get a hit off of him! Presented is a uniform that Tekulve wore during the 1981 season, complete with jersey, pants, and stirrups. The well-worn and stained jersey has a team stitched "80" patch on the front left tail, likely issued the prior year and carried over into 1981, with a Wilson size 40 label inside the collar, while the pants have a Wilson size 32 label and team stitched "27 81 28" swatch.
