Chosen as the #14 overall selection in the 1983 NFL Draft, University of Miami quarterback Jim Kelly spurned the Buffalo Bills and instead signed with the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League. In two seasons with the Gamblers, Kelly executed Head Coach Mouse Davis' run-and-shoot offense to near perfection, throwing for 9,842 yards and 83 touchdowns, and completing 63% of his passes with an average of 8.53 yards per attempt. He was the USFL MVP in 1984, setting league records with 5,219 yards passing and 44 TD passes. After the USFL folded he joined the Buffalo Bills, who had retained his rights, and while employing the "K-Gun" offense, known for its hurry up shotgun formations, Kelly led the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990 to 1993. Presented is an extremely rare and important game-used jersey of none other than Hall of Famer Jim Kelly during his two years with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL. This jersey has screened on red and black identifiers, with the appropriate extra length and Russell size 44 label on the front left tail. The jersey exhibits typical quarterback wear with an off-white hue. This jersey is far rarer than his Buffalo Bills jersey, so don't pass up this amazing opportunity! LOA from Troy Kinunen, Lou Lampson/Sports Collectors Digest Authentic and graded A-8.5, Lou Lampson/100% Authentic, and Mile High Card Company.
